EMPOWERED BY BLACK HISTORY

TRANSFORMATIVE LESSONS FROM THE LIVES AND WORKS OF HARRIET  TUBMAN AND FREDERICK DOUGLASS

Resilience, persistence, and overcoming are just a few of the themes that Empowered by Black History will expose students to. This isn't "just another"  Black History presentation. No it's a call to action. Black History is filled with stories overcoming and triumph and there are few greater than the stories of Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. Both of the aforementioned rose from seemingly impossible situations to prominence and positions of service. Both left lasting impact that is still felt today. How? Students will be presented with interesting historical facts and success principles from the lives of these great Americans that allowed them go from bondage to living lives of impact. Students from all walks of life and backgrounds will then be challenged to apply these principles for success to their own lives.

The presentation is approximately 45 - 60 Minutes minutes long and is both informative and engaging. Topics discussed include:

  • The Power of Mindset

  • Resilience

  • Unity and Cross Cultural Collaboration

  • Self Confidence

  • Servant Leadership

  • Selflessness

  • and more!
