darnellSPEAKS thanks and applauds you for taking the “My Greatest School Year Yet Challenge “. The challenge is designed to help students achieve their greatest school year, yet. The above mentioned aim will be accomplished through goal setting and accountability. Ultimately, it is our desire that the challenge helps participants realize the undeniable correlation between goal setting/planning and success.* The challenge will make for a great class project/activity. It can also be used at home or in non school settings.
The challenge consists of 3 simple steps:
Step 1: Using the worksheet(request via form below) list 3-5 clear and specific goals that you would like to accomplish this school year. Goals can be academic, athletic, social, health related, etc. Identify a definite(exact) date that you’d like to accomplish each goal.
Good Example: “I will finish the Fall semester with a 4.0 GPA for the semester.”
Bad Example: “I will make good grades this year.”
Step 2: Create a video recording of yourself speaking your goals. Speak your goals with confidence as if you believe that you can achieve them.
Step 3: Share your video recording with an accountability team, 2-3 people, that will hold you accountable to the goals that you’ve set. Your team can be made up of teachers, peers, counselors, parents, etc. Your accountability must be made up of people that will hold you accountable to reaching your goals.
